Tramway Base Logistics

The Sandia Peak Tramway base sits at the eastern end of Tramway Blvd in the Northeast Heights, with parking that fills quickly during peak summer/sunset windows. Our hourly chauffeur drops you at the base, parks in the designated commercial-livery zone (separate from the general parking lot, faster ingress/egress), and waits for your return. Standard package: 3 hours total — hotel pickup, ~30-minute drive to base, 2-hour Tramway round-trip including 30 minutes at the Crest, return to hotel. Sunset packages run 4 hours to accommodate the longer dusk-and-after sky.

The Sandia Peak Tramway's sunset run is one of the most-photographed Albuquerque experiences — the western view from the Crest looks directly out over the Rio Grande Valley, with Mount Taylor (an extinct stratovolcano sacred to the Pueblo peoples) on the horizon and the city's grid lighting up below as the sun drops.
